A day in the life of the boys

For the last couple of months my lovely other half has been a stay at home Dad, whilst I have gone to work to earn a crust and keep him in the lifestyle that he has become accustomed to. 🙂

To be honest he has a good gig – Baby B goes to nursery 3 days a week!

Whilst I love working and I am lucky enough to work for our own business, I do miss spending time with the boys. Always seems that they have more fun without me!

Today I left the house at 8am, having dressed Baby B and packed his bag for nursery.

The next time I heard from the two boys was at 12.04 when I received the following picture on What’s App –

Feet up (and yes those are my slippers)

Apparently, 21 month old Baby B didn’t fancy nursery today.

I thought that I would come home early to surprise the boys at 1pm. I walked into the house and to be honest it crossed my mind that we may have been burgled. There was stuff everywhere. However, it soon became clear that the quite impressive mess was a result of a hard mornings playing and this was what happened after lunch….

Sleeping Beauties – One downstairs and one upstairs

Alright for some eh – Nice work if you can get it! 🙂

A humorous quote for the day…….

I am currently reading ‘I, Partridge. We need to talk about Alan’. Always a fan of Alan Partridge I was simply delighted when I stumbled across this book, which is basically the memoirs of Alan. Image

I don’t find as much time for reading as I would like as books are one of my big passions, and when I do start to read, I often find I fall asleep but this book is really cracking me up.

I wanted to share this quote with you as it made me laugh out loud (in the library which is frowned upon I discovered!). Alan is talking about the hospital where he was born……

“NHS car parks were free, too, although those days are now a distant memory. It’s not too bad if you’re just bobbing in to drop off some grapes or beer for a loved one. But for expectant fathers it can be cripplingly expensive, especially if the birth is being slowed down by your wife having an unusually long cervix. (It seems wrong that wealthy dads whose spouses have shorter birth canals and more elastic vaginas should pay less.) The council say they’re trying to encourage people to use public transport but I think that’s horsesh*t”

Ohhh Titty!

Just to clarify, this post isn’t about Boobs! Sorry to disappoint any hopeful readers. It is actually about fans, the sort that spin round to cool you down, and the fact that Baby B for some reason not only LOVES them but calls them ‘TITTY’.

This first started in September 2012 when we arrived at my grandmothers house in Spain and Baby B saw the outdoor fan and just started shouting Titty, it has remained this way ever since. He would spend ages just sitting there smiling at the Titty in a very happy place.

The fan aka ‘Titty’ that started it all

He has an amazing ability to spot a Titty a mile off. We could be in a supermarket and he would suddenly just start shouting Titty (yes you can imagine the response that causes) and pointing.  There in the distance, 10 aisles down, you can just see the top of a white stand alone fan.

The boy is a fan spotting genius!

This applies to Titties on TV also, there is very lovely Titty at the start of Thomas the Tank Engine and of course, lets not forget Baby Jake – they live in a Titty – much to Baby B’s extreme excitement.

Oh and Titty’s in books – he flicks through his Usborne Touchy-feely ABC book, not happy until he has settled on W – for Titty.

I have had to stop going to our local Mothercare as they have five Titty’s hanging from the ceilling which results in Baby B running round the store informing people of the Titty’s on display. I could see one quite bemused young shop assistant checking her blouse whilst Baby B was shouting Titty at her, she later admitted to me after I had explained the situation that she thought ‘maybe one of hers was popping out’!

I just wanted to share this little insight into our lives with you as it makes me giggle! Good old Baby B always on hand to embarrass his mother.

His father loves it – I can’t imagine why 🙂

I may be a little behind the times with this blog post concerning the utterly brilliant Fiat 500 advert titled ‘Motherhood’!!!

Gosh, well I think that it is fair to say that Fiat apparently totally get Motherhood. I would never have expected soo much from a car manufacturers.

Genuinely hilarious, amusing and very very true.

If you haven’t seen it already – have a giggle

Just a little late…

My christmas card!

On Christmas day as my other half carefully opened the 2 Christmas cards he had waiting for him, one from me, his loving girlfriend and one from his son, I waited patiently for mine to be handed over. Sadly, Santa forgot to get me a card this year.

I could see the panic sweep across my boyfriends face as he realised that yet again he had forgotten to get me a card! Now, I would just like to clarify that I am one of those people who don’t often send cards, I do tend to move towards an email or e-card even, but since having the baby I do like a Christmas card!

Anyway, long story short, this is what I got! Worth the wait I think…..seeing as he came running in with it this morning! 🙂
